Post St. Patrick’s Day Hangover Cures

If you’re anything like us, sometimes it feels like luck of the Irish has been flat out tapped out when we wake up the morning of March 18. But we’ve got the hangover cures to help you ease the pain and #DetoxToRetox. Here are our fool-proof steps:

Sip Chug a Sakara Water

H2O(MG). The restorative power of water is the ultimate luxury after a boozy night on the town turns into a parched morning in bed. Up your hydration game with  Sakara’s Beauty Water – formulated with anti-inflammatory organic rosewater and silica that deeply hydrates cells and detoxifies the body to help you regain that healthy glow. Or be a little rebellious and go straight to the Night Water – it’s formulated with cleansing chlorophyl and magnesium that supports optimal digestion and regulates the body’s stress response.

Eat a Few Martin’s Pretzels from Mouth Foods

Remember when your mom gave you toast as a kid when you couldn’t keep anything down? This is good advice for anyone whose spent the night hugging the porcelain throne. But at STORY we give the standard toast an upgrade with Martin’s Pretzels. Hand-rolled, hand-twisted, and hand-baked by Mennonites in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, their magical combination of flour, yeast, salt, and soda yields a compellingly crunch that provides a soul-reaffirming snack as you’re easing back into being a human.

Sweat It Out With Brooklyn Yoga ProjectLyons Den, or AKT IN MOTION

It takes the body approximately an hour to metabolize one drink, so the “sweat it out” theory to curing a hangover may be a myth. But getting back on your feet combined with the endorphin release (and a little relief of guilt after burning off some of those Guiness calories) can do the trick. Hit up a class at one of STORY’s past Feel Good partners studios –  Brooklyn Yoga ProjectLyons Den, or AKT IN MOTION. Or take a brisk stroll on the high line.

Indulge in Some Hair of the Dog From Cookshop

Because when we fall off the horse, the only thing to do is get back on…Our favorite neighborhood haunt, Cookshop, has not one, not two, but five Bloody Mary’s to choose from (one for every weekday?). A few of our favorites? The BLT Mary comes loaded with house-infused bacon vodka and  slabs of bacon, while the Oaxaca Mary takes a note from the margarita with mexcal, cilantro, lime, and a salt rim.
