Why We Are Participating in the “Day Without A Woman” Strike
Because every day we see girls and women accomplish things that at one time felt out of reach.
Because we still have a long way to go before redefining what it means to be a “feminist,” but make no mistake – we’re along for the ride.
Because we are a company founded by women and run by women.
Because we believe the future is female – and so is the present.
On International Women’s Day, STORY will be participating in the “Day Without a Woman” strike as we take a timeout from social media and reflect on the enormous value that women of all backgrounds add to our world, our lives, and our ever-evolving story. (Even in the face of receiving lower wages and experiencing greater inequalities, vulnerability to discrimination, and job insecurity).
Anyone, anywhere can join by making March 8 a day where women take the day off from paid and unpaid labor, avoid shopping (with the exceptions for small, women-and minority-owned businesses), and wearing RED in solidarity.
Join us in taking a day off, but don’t put up your feet – there’s still so much more work to be done. We’ll see you back on March 9th!
