MAKING THINGS: How American Giant Created the “Greatest Hoodie Ever Made”

Who: Some of America’s best cotton farmers, ginners, yarners and sewers. American Giant works with manufacturers in Northern California, Los Angeles and North Carolina

Method: It took eight months for American Giant founder Bayard Winthrop to create the “Greatest Sweatshirt” ever — a hooded zip-up style that boasts reinforced elbow pads; a double-lined hood; custom hardware; a carefully calculated spandex percentage woven into the cuffs and waist to hold shape and elasticity.

Materials: American Giant’s basics are crafted of 100% cotton, which is cut and sewn at factories across America – like this one in Wendell, North Carolina.

What makes it unique?:Embodying the themes of Mr. Robot, American Giant rejects the institutional principles of the manufacturing industry.  Direct-to-consumer, American-made with every dollar invested in creating the best product possible.  As an official partner of the series, they are giving fans of the series an exclusive opportunity to join the revolution with the fsociety signature black hoodie.
