Looking Back at Home for the Holidays

All good things must come to an end. But as we say adieu to a merry, bright and productive holiday season with Microsoft Surface and gear up for #WhatComesNext, we’re taking a little time to reflect on a few moments that will keep our hearts warm through the winter. (Cue swelling violins.) We’ll be open until January 17! Don’t miss our last weekend.

Iris Apfel Jewelry Trunk Show

Fashion icon, interior designer, entrepreneur – Arguably the busiest nonagenarian in the world, Iris Apfel joined us for a chilly Friday evening in November to sell pieces from her personal jewelry collection. Even New York Magazine covered the event that saw customers buy everything from bangles to brooches.

Martha Stewart Book Signing

The legendary hostess with the mostess joined us in November to sign copies of her latest book, Martha Stewart’s Vegetables. The air crackled with electricity and customers – big and little – lined up around the store to chat with the domestic goddess and BFF of Snoop Dogg. Her collection of 150 recipes – many of which are vegetarian – made the perfect holiday gift for foodies.

Shopping for Funny Gifts

From Funny Finds for Foodies to Humorous Gifts for the Office Secret Santa, we never tired of finding unique and quirky gifts that add a whole lot of flavor to the obligatory trinket-giving.

Girls’ Night Out With Sophia Amoruso

We teamed up with Sophia to create a gift bundle inspired by the Microsoft Surface Pro 4 for the on-the-go woman whose style is always “on.” Then we gathered all of the inspirational and powerful women in our lives and celebrated with a Girls’ Night Out! Is there anything better than rose bubbly and girl talk? (P.S. Her gift bundle is still available at Neiman Marcus!)

Snowday Food Truck at #SnacknShop

Every Saturday through November and December, we provided the inspirational gifts to check off all of those to-dos, and the fuel to take you there.  A particular crowd favorite? The Snowday Food truck served up fresh and local maple grilled cheese and cider. And better yet, their Drive Change mission uses their truck as a workplace to run a one year Fellowship for young adults returning home from jail and prison.

Sweet Dani B Cookie Trunk Show

The couture cookie master and Emmy award-winning set and prop stylist visited STORY for a sweet holiday cookie trunk show!  We loved catching up with Dani about her work on the Martha Stewart Show, her “cookie conversion,” and how she came to find her motto, “life is sweet” (link above)!

Simon Sinek Book Signing

Our favorite optimist, author, and legendary TED Talk Speaker Simon Sinek joined us to greet fans and sign copies of his latest book, Together is Better. The beautifully illustrated book promises to inspire readers to ask for help, help others, and discover their own courage through a charming story about change.

Out of Office Hours

Every Sunday in November, we teamed up with a rotating cast of creatives from the Working Not Working community to join for “Out of Office Hours.” Designers Skip Hursh and Jon Burgerman  helped guests design custom cell phone skins on the Microsoft Surface Studio!
