2015 Highlights: Pitch Night Discoveries
Pitch Night – the night anyone and everyone can pitch STORY founder Rachel Shechtman (and a few of friends) a product – has part of our DNA at STORY since we first opened four years ago. And it never fails to yield inspiring discoveries, great stories, and more than a few laughs (over beers). This year we were lucky enough to meet over 200 creatives with unique and inspiring stories and hosted panelists including Bezar founder Bradford Shellhammer, Surface Magazine EIC Spencer Bailey, HSNi CEO Mindy Grossman, GMA columnist Tory Johnson, and O Magazine’s Adam Glassman, here’s a look back at some of 2015’s Pitch Night highlights:
Minimalist and multi-sensory, David Cazso’s concrete candle was pitched during Creativity STORY to panelists including Surface Mag EIC Spencer Bailey. It’s brilliant exploration of material earned it a spot in STORY and an in-book feature in the design-minded publication.
A natural and functional take on the personalization trend, Words with Boards’ customized butcher block boards caught the eye of Pitch Night panelist and O Magazine editor Adam Glassman. In November the boards were named to Oprah’s “Favorite Things” – naturally!
True story: we’ve never seen anything like Elevie’s ingenious wine maturing badge. But after sipping the almost instant results of this cool catalyst at our most recent Pitch Night, we picked it up for our Home for the Holidays concept.
Designer and illustrator KahriAnne Kerr pitched us her line of rocker chic original art printed accessories line, including the fashion icon dolls at latest Pitch Night. We’ve been selling out of them ever since, but for those who need a stitch fix they can be found on Bezar.
