Welcome to Home for the Holidays 2016!
It’s back…and it’s better than ever!
If you’re a fan of STORY, you already know that we’re always ch-ch-changing it up. But every holiday, we return Home for the Holidays: It’s a very merry time when our space becomes an editorially-inspired gift guide that unfolds inside a holiday home. Open Tuesday, November 2, through Saturday, December 31, we’re offering visitors a one-stop-shop through designated rooms that correspond to different gift recipients on your list: a living room for Her, a library for Him, a playroom for the Kids, and a kitchen with something for Everyone! The store will feature over 2,000 gifts from over 200 small businesses and brands, as well as exclusive gift items.
This year, we’re joining forces with Microsoft Surface – the most productive devices that will help visitors tackle their holiday to-dos so there’s more time for what’s important (holidaying!). We’ve also invited a rotating cast of designers from the Working Not Working community to help you express yourself with help from Microsoft’s newest device, the Surface Studio!
With creative direction from interior designer Jason Bell, our space – inspired by midcentury modern southwestern architecture—couldn’t have been completed without a few home decor partners. Highlights of the design include custom built-in fixtures from ALU, a working HearthCabinet Ventless Fireplace, area rugs by FLOR, home accents and lighting by West Elm and a mural by artist Sydney Penner of A New Wall.
To bring the season home, we enlisted a couple of our most inspiring friends. #GirlBoss Sophia Amoruso curated an exclusive gift collection for the powerful woman-on-the-go featuring the Microsoft Surface Pro 4. And David Kidder, author of The Startup Playbook, found some of his must-haves for the creative entrepreneur, with the Microsoft Surface Book as the spotlight. The new Microsoft devices will be available as part of the exclusive gift bundles with other well-designed gifts.
And of course, don’t miss us for Snack ‘n Shop Saturdays, where an array of New York City’s award-winning food trucks will join us each weekend to help you stay powered up and ready to conquer your holiday to-dos.
We also have special events planned for big kids and little – from a visit from Martha Stewart who will be signing her latest book, Martha Stewart: Vegetables to a jewelry trunk show with Iris Apfel, to a STEM event for the kids with littleBits.
Stay tuned for more action-packed events and items that will help you check that (gift) box and do more than ever before!
