The Sill Founder Wants You To Love Plants
Like falling in L-O-V-E, there’s nothing easy about becoming a plant person. Consider Eliza Sill a green-thumb wielding love doctor. As the founder of The Sill, she aims to bridge the gap between plants and people and inspire healthy live-in relationships. Here she shares what she loves about her job and her secret (slightly prickly) maker crush. Read on…and get excited for Eliza to join us next week for an in-store potting workshop!
WHAT DO YOU LOVE ABOUT WHAT YOU MAKE?
I love every aspect: the good and the challenging. I love inspiring people to live with more green plants in their lives, and helping them to do just this. There are so many tremendous benefits to living with plants – so bringing about these is the best reward for the work it takes to run a business.
WHERE IS YOUR FAVORITE NYC DATE SPOT?
I adore ABC Kitchen for dinner, drinks, and a little stroll. The food is absolutely fantastic and it’s so much fun to walk the floor of the store.
TELL US THE STORY OF BEST DATE YOU’VE EVER BEEN ON?
A cliché, but the best date I’ve ever been on was my first date with my husband. We were having drinks in the city, sitting a few tables down from an older couple that was very clearly in love. They spotted us, and out of nowhere said they hoped they would be invited to our wedding. Embarrassing at the time, but looking back I believe it made for one of the best and blessed dates.
WHO IS YOUR SECRET MAKER CRUSH?
I’m currently crushing on Amelie Mancini. She makes these fantastic screen printed, cactus-design linens!
