[THE GUIDE TO] SUPPORTING SMALL BUSINESSES BY SHOPPING SMALL

All holiday season long, we’ll guide you to the people, places, and gifts you need to know about.

In 2010, American Express OPEN launched its first ever Small Business Saturday as a way to support small businesses and inspire local communities to get out and shop small. Since then millions across the country (STORY very much included) have taken part in the day –  rallying together around the people and places that make their neighborhoods great.

At STORY this mission has always been close to our heart because we’re a small businesses  and so are many of the people we work with daily, from makers to the wine shop that’s always ready with a great bottle suggestion. This year, we’ve followed our heart Home for the Holidays and teams up with American Express OPEN to bring together over 300 small businesses under one roof.

Coming over? We’ve decked our halls with great gifts and the stories of each of the small businesses featured in our space – when you discover something you love, follow your heart on social media. On the weekends, we’ve invited some of our favorites to join us and meet you – Saturdays we’ll be hosting food trunks like Korllia BBQ, Snowday, and Milk Trunk and on Sundays we kick off the day with sips from small businesses like Panatea and then trunk shows with Stowaway Cosmetics, Tangeez, and more.

On Saturday November 28th it all comes together on Small Business Saturday – the day we all shop small. From 9am to  9pm we’ll be open for small business, celebrating alongside friends like Hella Bitters, Jars by Dani, Sel Magique and more. Can’t make it? Get out in your own neighborhood and join in on the day we all #ShopSmall.
