The Cooper Hewitt Museum knows good frames. Since 1897 the design museum has been framing the conversation around creativity, acting as the only US institution devoted exclusively to historic and contemporary design. This month, it sets its sights on a new type of frame, teaming with innovative eyewear maker, Warby Parker to create glasses for the modern creative. “The Cooper” features an archival, round-lensed shape and design-minded details like an intricate coil temples and Tortoise Matte accents. With collaboration in mind, the pair supports programs at the at the museum’s Cooper Hewitt Design Center in Harlem. Visionary, right?
