Charting the Empowering Upward Motion of Uncharted Play

A single spark of inspiration is all it takes to disrupt the status quo. Uncharted Play Co-Founder and CEO Jessica O. Matthews’ light bulb moment happened as a 19-year-old student when she and a handful of students came up with an audacious idea: to power a world in motion with motion.

It’s quite extraordinary, really; if ever there was an innovator, she’s it. – Bill Clinton

Enter: The SOCCKET, a soccer ball embedded with a pendulum-like mechanism that generates energy when it moves. It became an immediate hit, igniting a global conversation and casting the spotlight on the potential energy of UP’s innovative products.

STORY was one of many who took notice of Matthews innovative startup – named one of the most innovative companies by Fast Company. In 2014 the brand’s energy-generating soccer ball was featured in Good STORY, a concept that offered inventive, design-driven solutions to the world’s most pressing challenges.

After embedding its disruptive tech and conscious ethos in the conceptual experience of Good STORY, Uncharted Play and its forward-thinking founder have been a fit for a number of concepts including “Her” and our latest “F-Word,” while also earning attention attention of TED, former President Bill Clinton, Forbes, CNN, and President Obama.

Excited for what else the future holds for Uncharted Play and STORY? So are we. Stay tuned, and play on.
