In a word, Pitch Night for me was unexpected. The night was impeccably managed by the STORY staff. I made some solid connections with fellow business owners, and got to tell my story to the panelists. Rachel immediately made the decision to include us in love STORY, and we couldn’t be happier. As a local brand, we can’t wait to come and see our products on the shelves.
ANY STAND OUT PITCH NIGHT MOMENTS?
Pitching. I love talking about my brand and educating people about Beau Brummell (the historical figure). Answering questions from the panelists was great experience for me in my ability to answer questions on the fly.
WHAT INSPIRED YOU TO START BEAU BRUMMELL?
Gaps in the market. The personal care market is flooded with women’s and unisex brands. Our goal was to create a no frills line FOR MEN. Men and women have different skin on a biological level, so our line is formulated to work better on men’s skin. Men have skin that is physically thicker, denser, more porous, and more prone to sweating. To tackle these issues, we focus less on wrinkling/aging and more on removing excess oils, cleansing the pores, and exfoliating the skin.
ANY HIDDEN TALENTS?
I love to sing! I’m a karaoke superstar.
WHAT’S THE MOST POWERFUL PIECE OF ADVICE YOU’VE RECEIVED?
Early bird gets the worm. I learned this practice in college and never looked back. I get so much more work done early in the morning before the day’s noise begins.
WHAT’S A FUN FACT WE CAN’T LEARN ABOUT YOU ON GOOGLE?
We recently started donating 5% of our website sales to ZERO cancer, a foundation that not only raises awareness about prostate cancer, but supports affected families while they are going through tough times.
